What to Expect

  • We are done with Doomscrolling and Parenting with Intention. A sacred black parenting community revolution for black people by black people. Black Parents, Caregivers, and allies can learn, gain tools that work for them, and evolve with zero tolerance for racism, capitalism, patriarchal systems, or homophobia.

  • In the POP community, we do not ask parents to be perfect. We ask everyone to show up with intention for yourself first, because children learn by watching what we do and less of what we say. We show up knowing there is no such thing as “one-size-fits-all” and every person must decide what works best for them.

  • Led by experienced guides and peers who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with intention.

  • Institutions and Community resources (and too many to name), underfund Black maternal and family initiatives, leaving Black-led organizations to operate with a fraction of the funding. In a recent article for The New York Times, Nikole Hannah-Jones (author of The 1619 Project) wrote beautifully about the systemic realities and inequities Black caregivers face. POP is the community-funded response.
